This is the orchid Dactylorhiza majalis ssp calcifugiens, which only grows in a small area in the northern part of Jutland. I don't think it has an English name.
I found this painting to be very difficult! - painting around the shapes and generally painting the negative spaces, but it is a technique I would like to get better at. I've tried to show the various plants that grows along with this orchid : Common Tormentil, cross-leaved heath, bottle sedge and creeping willow.
