Cattle - again

Cattle in a meadow.

Watercolor, 26 x 18 cm, paper: Arches CP.

Arches is an expensive type of paper, but I don't really like it. And even though this is cold press, it is still too rough for details. And Arches HP, which is much finer, has a very strange surface, that is very difficult to use - washes come out all patchy. Maybe I just don't know how to use it properly, or it doesn't fit my technique. I ended up using a lot of white to lighten certain areas, so this painting is partly nearly a gouache. And maybe the composition isn't so good - the cows are standing nearly in center and in nearly identical pose. But this time I was so interested in drawing cattle, that I guess I forget about the composition.
